Help Desk Engineer
DataServ, a leader in Networking and Managed Services solutions for the educational
marketplace, is seeking a Help Desk Engineer to join our Technical Services team
in Westlake, Ohio.
The primary focus of the position will be to support Cisco IP networks which include
Catalyst 6500, 4500, 3750, 3560 and 2960 series switches; ASA5500 and Firewall Services
Modules; 3900, 3800, 2900 and 2800 series ISRs; 4400 and 5508 series Wireless LAN
Controllers; and 1131, 1142, 1252 and 1242 series Wireless Access Points.
In addition, the position requires the ability to support Cisco IP Telephony systems
which include Call Managers, Unity, ISR Voice Gateways, IP Phones, Analog devices,
Mobility and third party applications.
A thorough understanding of SIP trunks, digital circuits, analog POTS lines, fiber
optics, copper and wireless infrastructure specifications is also required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced understanding of networking technologies
- Understanding of product features, benefits, capabilities, operations and solutions
- Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem solving capabilities
- Strong LAN/WAN experience with routing, ACLs and VLANs
- Strong understanding of wireless networks
- Strong computer operational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to be flexible and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
- Demonstrate attention to detail
Requirements:
- 5+ years within the IT industry, with hands-on technology experience to include
Cisco hardware implementations
- Engineering Certification for Cisco IP Telephony and Wireless
- CCNP and/or CCDP, CCVP certifications
- Bachelor Degree
- Occasional overnight travel
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

Outside Sales: Demonstration Center Specialist
This position is a mid-level, outside sales position that requires a high degree
of professionalism in all areas of responsibilities. The purpose of this position
is to generate add-on sales activities for new application and service revenue opportunities
that will allow us to penetrate deeper into our customer base. This position does
have a quota objective and has been created in order to expand awareness of our
solutions and generate new sales revenue in a pre-established account base.
This is a strategic position and requires a highly motivated and confident individual
with strong self image, who accepts ideas from others, who is comfortable and understanding
of people, who has high energy and drive, who works well on a team, who has a positive
attitude, and who is flexible, responsible and self disciplined. This position will
be based in Cleveland or Columbus and also requires extensive travel (estimated
4 days per week) throughout the state of Ohio. In addition, this position requires
a functional, technical knowledge base of our solutions with a proven ability to
effectively communicate and demonstrate to both a technical and non-technical audience.
These technologies include networking infrastructure, IP Telephony basic and advanced
services, mobility, wireless, video conference, and video surveillance solutions.
Lastly, this position requires very close coordination and cooperation with each
Senior Account Executive that has overall responsible for the primary strategic
account.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years successful sales and marketing experience, as measured by performance
objectives, sales revenue and corporate goals. Strong working knowledge and effective
use in computer systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Explorer, FileMaker Pro and
Office Automation tools (i.e. email, calendar, OneNote, task management).
- Strong knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony Systems
- Self-starter with solid organizational and time management skills
- Works very effectively in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Safe driving record required
Certification Requirements:
- Cisco Sales Expert (CSE)
- Advanced Unified Communications (Account Executive)
